Sobre nosotros
Dino Berg
Dino Berg runs Dino's Drywall Inc out of Carlsbad. He has held CSLB license #989989 since January 2014 — 12 years as a licensed contractor in his own name, with a clean record you can check yourself in about two minutes.
The rest of this page is deliberately short. There is a version of the contractor About page that runs three paragraphs about passion and integrity and says nothing you could verify. This is not that. What is here is either a matter of public record or a description of how the work actually runs — and where something has not been confirmed yet, the page says so instead of inventing it.

The licence, and the record behind it
California publishes all of this. The number below is a link straight to the CSLB record for Dino's Drywall Inc — not a screenshot, not a badge graphic, the board’s own page. Check it before you hire anybody, including us. A contractor who does not want you looking is telling you something.

Nothing disclosable on the record
No citations, no civil judgments, no arbitrations, no suspensions. Worth being precise about what that means: California restricts which complaints a licensing board may publish, so “none on record” means nothing disclosable has been recorded — not that no customer has ever been unhappy. It is still the strongest thing a licence page can say, and it is checkable.
Verificar en CSLBLicences, bonds and coverage all renew on their own clocks. If you are reading this a long way from the date it was written, check the board rather than the page — that is exactly why the number is a link.

The parts only Dino can answer
Everything below is a real question with a real answer that nobody here has yet. Rather than write something plausible and hope it is close, the page holds the space open. Each block gets replaced with Dino’s own answer, or deleted — not filled in from imagination.

Years in the trade before 2014
The licence issued in January 2014. Almost nobody gets licensed on their first day with a taping knife, so there are years before that — hanging, taping, finishing, running a crew for somebody else — and those years are the real answer to “how long have you been doing this”. We need the year he started and roughly what he was doing. We are not going to guess at it.

How he learned it
Who he learned from and where. An apprenticeship, a union programme, a first job with a crew, a family business — they are all different stories and they are all good ones, but only one of them is true. Three or four sentences in his own words beat anything a writer could invent, and this is the paragraph people actually read.

Crew size and how it flexes
How many people work with him on a normal week, whether they are employees or long-standing subcontract crews, and what the ceiling is when a job needs more bodies. General contractors ask this before they will put anyone on a bid list, and homeowners ask it on the phone. A made-up number would be caught the first week.

Whether family is involved
Family-run is a genuine selling point when it is true and an embarrassment when it is not. Is anyone in the family in the business, on the tools or in the office? And, just as importantly, does Dino want that published? Some owners do and some deliberately keep family off the website. That is his call, not ours.

The callback policy, in real terms
What happens if a joint cracks or a patch flashes after the paint goes on — how long he stands behind the work and what that covers. This one has to come with an actual term length from Dino. A warranty invented by a website is worth nothing and would be the fastest way to lose an argument later.

What is true today, and does not need confirming
None of this is biography. It is how the shop operates, and it is the part a customer can hold us to from the first phone call.
The owner is on the job
The person who walks the house and prices it is the person on site while it is being done, and the person who answers when you call afterward. Nothing about your job gets relayed through somebody who never saw it.
Residential and commercial both
A single patch in a hallway and a commercial tenant improvement in metal stud are both normal weeks. That matters to a homeowner for one reason: the sequence and the standards a commercial job forces on you are the same ones that make a house come out flat.
Straight answers on schedule
Drywall is mostly drying time and nobody controls drying time. So you get the calendar-day answer instead of the optimistic one, and a phone call the day a problem becomes visible rather than the afternoon it lands on you.
English and Spanish
On the phone, on the job and on this site. Se habla español — and the estimate gets explained in whichever language you would rather have it explained in.
Close enough to come back
Based in Carlsbad, working 14 core cities across North County San Diego and South Orange County. A callback inside that footprint is a short drive rather than a scheduling problem, which is most of what a warranty is worth in practice.
Scope written down
Most arguments about drywall quality turn out, on inspection, to be arguments about a scope nobody wrote down. The finish level, the texture and what happens to the surface around the repair go in writing before the first sheet moves.

One number, and it is his. Describe the wall, the room and whether anything is wet, or text a photo. You will get a straight answer about what the repair involves and whether it is worth a truck roll — including the times the answer is that you can handle it yourself.
